Whether we, humans, have some metaphysical property of ultimate 'free will' or agency is irrelevant. It misses the mark, in my mind, of the practical.
Here is the practical: notice those times when on consideration, your mind says no--you cannot! Its not allowed; and the reason of this outcry is so instinctually tethered to your sense of self that you carry on with your day. But on closer examination, maybe a sense of unease falls over you; the sting of disillusionment. Like Nietzsche said: beware of the preachers of death, those who claim good to be bad and up to be down. Verily, for how many truths do you hold with no foundation but the dogmatic pillars stretching far above your head in ostentatious glorification. Only to find, looking down at your feet, there lies nothing but the beautiful expanse of Nature: the goddess of truth. In those moments of realization, of discovery, of remembering that which you have always known--you are as free as you can be.
Thus beware of the artificial prior; always question that which is not obvious, and also that which is too obvious! There is the largest market in the world for complexity and obfuscation. Knowledge is cheaper then ever, and far less attractive for most.
